Mission Matters

As a church in Lichfield we have a big mission and support those with a specialist outreach in the local area. We also believe it is right to support those who are working in other countries where local support for mission is not available.

Here is a list of the organisations we support as a church both with finance and prayer. Many individuals within our community support other organisations as well.

Africa Inland Mission

Bible Society

BMS World Mission

Baptists Together

Christian Aid

Good News for Everyone (formerly Gideons UK)

HEBA Home Mission

Open Doors UK

Urban Saints

Lichfield Christian Schools Work Trust

Mission Romania UK

Wade Street Church has been part of youth and adult mission trips to Romania since 2014, in partnership with Pater Noster, who operate via a small house church, based in the town of Ploiesti, north east of Bucharest.

Each year teams have had the privilege of being able to bless the poorer communities, engage with underprivileged children, visit both men and women in prisons, support the homeless as well as being actively part of various building projects.

In addition, they have assisted in food distribution, healthcare and holding times of worship and prayer. The teams show and tell of the love of Christ in all these differing areas mainly through teaching and craft workshops.

The teams go over for a week-long trip taking their personal belongings in hand luggage so that large suitcases can be filled with such things as: Christmas gifts, clothing, toiletries, medications and children’s crafts. Wade Street Church also provides some financial support to Marius and Roxana Dancovici who run Pater Noster.

This whole initiative is supported in spiritual and practical ways by praying, knitting, donating gifts, raising funds or giving up their time to be part of a team trip.

If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person? Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.
